Privacy Policy
Relay Pal forwards your messages to places you choose. This policy explains what the app handles and where it goes. In short: Relay Pal has no accounts and no servers of its own, and Pearl Lane, LLC does not receive your messages, contacts or settings.
What the app can see
- Text messages (SMS, MMS and RCS) as they arrive, including the sender and any picture.
- Notifications from WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Messenger, Gmail, Google Messages (for RCS chats) and missed calls, if you turn on Notification access. Relay Pal reads the title and text of these notifications and any picture attached.
- Your contacts, only to match a sender to a name, to apply rules like "everyone in my contacts", and to let you pick people for rules.
Relay Pal only acts on messages that match a rule you created. It does not read or forward messages for sources that no rule uses.
Where your messages go
When a message matches a rule, Relay Pal sends it, directly from your phone, to the destination you set up:
- Text message (SMS/MMS): sent through your phone and mobile carrier to the number you entered.
- Telegram: sent over the internet to Telegram's servers (api.telegram.org) using the bot token and chat ID you entered. Telegram's own privacy policy applies from that point.
- Email: sent over a secure connection to the email (SMTP) server you entered, using the account details you provided. Your email provider's policy applies from that point.
- Webhook: sent over the internet to the web address you entered. It includes the source, the sender's name and number, the message text, whether a picture was attached, and the time. Whoever runs that address receives it.
You choose every destination. Pearl Lane, LLC does not operate a server that sits between your phone and these destinations.
What is stored on your phone
- Your rules, destinations and settings, including any bot token, email server details and email password you enter.
- An activity log of recent forwards (the sender, the destination, the source and the result). The log keeps only the most recent entries and is kept on your phone.
This data is stored in Relay Pal's private app storage on your phone. Android app backup is switched off for Relay Pal, so this data is not copied to cloud backups by the app. Uninstalling Relay Pal removes it from your phone.
What we collect
Pearl Lane, LLC does not collect, receive or sell your messages, contacts, settings or activity log. Relay Pal has no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking.
The one exception is something you choose to do: the app can create a debug report that you can share with the app of your choice, for example email. It contains your activity log. Nothing is shared unless you tap to share it and pick where it goes.
Permissions
- Receive SMS and Send SMS: to read incoming texts and forward by text or MMS.
- Read contacts: to show names and apply contact-based rules.
- Read phone state: required by Android for sending longer, multi-part texts.
- Internet: to reach Telegram, your email server or your webhook.
- Notification access (optional): to forward RCS chats, other messaging apps, Gmail and missed calls.
You can withdraw any permission at any time in Android settings. Features that need it will stop working.
Other people's messages
Messages you forward may include other people's names, numbers and words. Please only forward messages you have the right to share, and only to destinations you trust.
Children
Relay Pal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
